My name is Akil. I’m a physiotherapy student with a background in competitive basketball and a strong interest in strength training, injury prevention and long-term physical performance.

Sport has played a major role in my life. I’ve competed across multiple levels of basketball, including academy basketball, U18 Premier, regional leagues, Division 2 and Division 3, as well as recreational tournaments such as 3×3 competitions and university basketball. Playing in these environments exposed me to the physical demands of high-level sport, the importance of structured training, and the reality of managing injuries while continuing to perform.
Those experiences are a big part of why I moved into physiotherapy and performance training. Understanding how the body adapts to training, how injuries occur, and how athletes can stay strong and resilient has become a core focus of my work.
Alongside my studies, I am a Level 4 Sports Massage Therapist, which has proggresed me practical experience om muscle function and recovery. Combining this with my physiotherapy education allows me to approach training with both a performance and rehabilitation perspective.
My approach to coaching centres around three key principles:
Strength – developing a resilient body through structured training.
Movement quality – improving how you move to reduce injury risk and optimise performance.
Consistency – building habits that lead to long-term progress rather than short-term results.
Through this platform I document my journey through physiotherapy, share insights into training and rehabilitation, and offer coaching for people who want to build strength, improve athletic performance and move better for the long term.
